Hugh Chittenden has over 40 years birding experience in the region and his ornithological interests have taken him to many remote places on the African continent and elsewhere in the world. Hugh has a passion for bird photography and is the author of Top Birding Spots in Southern Africa and author of the Roberts Bird Guide. He is currently Chairman of the John Voelcker Bird Book Fund. Ian Whyte spent 37 years living and working in the Kruger National Park (KNP). He has had a lifelong interest in birds and for 14 years he acted in the capacity of ornithologist in KNP, though his main function was as Biologist studying large mammals, especially elephants. He co-authored an earlier (1991) field guide to the birds of KNP and has made several other contributions to scientific and popular bird books and journals. He has now retired and lives in Graskop. Guy Upfold was not only responsible for all plate layout, design, and creation of distribution maps, but his assistance with many other aspects in the production of this guide has been invaluable. Guy is a renowned bird photographer and has had many of his photographs published in popular works. |
