Beverley Naidoo grew up in Johannesburg. As a student she joined the resistance to apartheid, ending up exiled in England. Her first book, Journey to Jo'burg, opened a window for children world-wide, and has just celebrated its 25th anniversary of publication. Beverley has won many awards, including the Carnegie Medal for The Other Side of Truth. Her other books include The Great Tug of War, S is for South Africa and Aesop's Fables. Piet Grobler grew up on a farm in Limpopo, South Africa. After working as a church minister, he made a career in illustration and now lectures at the University of Worcester. His awards include a Golden Apple at the Biennale for Illustration, Bratislava, the Octogone de Chene, the Premio Alpi Apuane and the IBBY Honour list. His books for Frances Lincoln include Fussy Freya with Katherine Quarmby, The Magic Bojabi Tree with Dianne Hofmeyr, and The Great Tug of War and Aesop's Fables with Beverley Naidoo.
