Alain Mabanckou
Alain Mabanckou was born in Congo-Brazzaville, and has penned five novels and six volumes of poetry. In 1999, he received the Prix Litteraire de l’Afrique Noire for his first novel, Blue-White-Red. He was then awarded the Le Prix des Cing Continents de la Francophonie for Broken Window, and the prestigious Prix Renaudot for his previous novel, Memoirs of a Porcupine.
